I left carver in arguably the most troublesome generation and I can confidently say the education I received was not to prepare me for high school and my future, but rather to satisfy the schools illusion of superiority. Carver is far from the best and it is appalling that the schools confidence in their ability to educate middle schoolers is so poorly supported. The school is a bottleneck for creativity and standardizes the students lives as if their life is based on a piece of paper. While it is true that this problem is extremely common in other schools, it's unbelievable how the students are made examples of rather than listened to. There were many students who broke the rules in my grade, but rather than punishing them and bringing attention to the less than perfect students, the school made an example of one student in particular who was a model student and had won the school many awards. The school is corrupted by its self proposed image of greatness and is ridiculous and destroys the values of not only middle school, but that of modern society.
Um carver was great for the most part. I did pretty well but some of the teachers are horrible and don't teach anything. I practically saved everyone from an eoc by posting a study guide full of math formulas. But on the other hand some teachers are great. the events are pretty cool i guess. But the point is that carver is just like your average middle school with a little less bullying. It's really not as special the administration brags to be.
I do not want to say neglect for that would be to harsh, but PLEASE DO DISREGARD some of the other comments. There is some truth in most of the one star reviews, yet as a student who actually cares about school, academically Carver is a pretty great school. I didn't study for the tests given to 6th grade students to be able to take advanced classes such as Algebra 1 and Physical science, but luckily my test scores were high enough to get in. I strongly encourage those students coming in to please study for those tests. The teachers for the advanced classes are THE BEST, because you learn more and don't have to deal with the other teachers (who I've been expressed to by other students aren't the best). Except for one teacher, Ms. Agudelo who was my geometry teacher this past school year, WHO DID NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH, (which really stresses intelligent children) all other teachers for the advanced classes are great!!! As for the social aspect honestly do not try to fit in with the "popular" because they are irrelevant unless you want stupid drama, but apart from this there isn't as much bullying as in other middle schools. Yes they give stupid referrals, although I never received one . I found best friends that I know wouldn't have found in any other middle school, they had the same interests and we had the best memories! I would not have chosen any other school even with all the stressful times! Class of 2017
Please disregard all of the previous reviews from former students because in all honesty they are the kids that start problems or get in trouble and never want to stick around for the consequences. Carver is not the best and it's not the worst. Academically the school is great. If you put in effort you will be rewarded. There are great teachers and then there's that one teacher that teaches but does not care about the students. There is a decent amount of homework and in most cases the kids who are complaining about it never did theirs. Now let's talk about social life around carver, that is a whole different story, there are people who are considered popular and feel better than other students but in all honesty nobody cared/cares about them or what they do because they are irrelevant. Most of them wrote horrible reviews about this school because they have nothing else to do except dwell on the past. The administration does not interfere with your life if you follow the rules and that's what some of these kids don't understand. Just follow the rules and the next 3 years will go by quick and easy. And DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT try to "fit in" because most of those people are jerks and don't care about what's actually important(SCHOOL!!!!). So just do your work and find your real friends. And for the parents, if you read the previous reviews from former students, those kids never cared about their school work and are trying to make the school look bad.
❗️READ THIS ❗️Please disregard some of these foolish and inaccurate reviews below. No carver is not easy, no one ever said it was, however it is a great school to grow academically if you have the correct and focused mind set for a student. If you work hard in your classes and take the opportunities this school provides, academic benefits you will achieve (highschool credits, etc). For the most part the staff is decent (unlike what you read in many other reviews) and there are some amazing teachers in a bunch. If you find real friends, then stick by them and you will have some nice memories that you will cherish. Don't be part of the crowd, or try to "fit in" because popularity isn't what school is for. In 3 years (that go by very fast) you will endure hard stressful times but also great memories with possibly life long friends that you might meet ( I met a few). By the end of it you'll grow into a better or worse person (depending the choices you make and the so called friends you decide to hang out with) ; I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else, class '17
