I would give this place 0 stars if it was possible. Don't bother calling or emailing, no one ever answers. Extremely frustrating is an understatement in dealing with these people.

4. Please please please please have at least 1 person to pick up the phone.

Very good experience. I had to renew my passport and I got the new one in less than 15 days. A kind male employee did things in a timely manner. Thankful for the service.

I would give 0 stars to this place without hesitation. The big old man who checks people in is very disrespectful and rude as soon as you approach the window.

In March, my daughters and I went to the consulate for our citizenship appointment. We had a short wait and then our applications were handled very efficiently by the woman in charge of citizenship. She was great and made quick work of the process.

Yes, it was a 22 month wait from when I made the appointment, but I was very happy with the consulate staff. Everyone was super.

1. Treat people well: come on, it shouldn't be that hard.

I don't know if they even read these posts, because if they did, some of them would be fired, and the consulate would probably work better. Nevertheless, if you are reading this, please:

He called another woman who told me the same thing. At this point I think it's personal. They really are trying hard for me to not go to their country. So I'm 20 days away from my flight, next week I have 5 final exams and a project defense, I've missed 3 entire work days, and thay haven't even had the decency of reviewing my documents to ensure the application will be complete whenever it is I can send it. And still they tell me to go yet another day. What if I'm missing some weird document then?

It is literally impossible to get in touch with anyone, via phone, mail, email or anything at all! The website is chaotic and lacks information. Appointment for passports are all taken for three months, then you cannot book further away than three months. They only work in the morning, not every day, until 12, but if you call at 11:30 it's clear that they have already left. This place is like a little piece of the worse of Italy right for your enjoyment, all the way to Miami.

2. Update your website: if the visa office will be unexpectedly closed, the people need to know. Especially people who live hours away from Miami.

6. Remember that those things on the other side of the glass are PEOPLE.

I went three times traveling from Orlando, the first time I went, my docs were incomplete, my fault, and I received a paper with a checklist that for some reason was not available in the website (the checklist in the website is incomplete). The second time, they told me that the visa office was closed, even though I checked their website and called them (only to listen a machine referring me back to the website). The third time, just today, I arrived to the consulate from Orlando at 9:30am, after a 4 hours drive, only to hear that all walk ins had to be there at 9am, and even though I explained my situation, Mr. Big Old man made sure that I did not get a proper attention.

5. Try helping people, not getting rid of them: people like me just want to visit your beautiful country, contribute to its economy, and have a wholesome experience, after months, and years of saving and planning. Putting one more person in the walk-in line might cause a delay in your process that might be significant, but it would grant me the journey of my lifetime, the realization of a dream.

3. Consider changing the personnel (or at least get big old man an anger management course). Italians are famously happy people.
