Reading these reviews i am terrified! My 90 year old grandmother was just admitted for swelling in her legs. So far i have noticed a couple things i don't like. The nurse aid reuses the plastic wash pans. That's kind of gross. Also the head RN in the day shift not sure of her name is kind of rude. She does not like to be asked any questions. Very stand offish attitude. I don't like the way she speaks to patients. Also the rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. But we'll have to make do until she recovers. I asked one of the nurses what medication he was giving my grandmother and he didn't even know the name. He was new at the hospital it seems. He was being trained by the nurse on duty. I finally found out but it took some questioning. Oh well i hope we don't have any major issues.
This hospital is a legit embarrassment to The City of Coral Gables and Miami as a whole. I was rushed over here by the fire dept for an intense allergic reaction due to several hornet stings. Once I got there, my "nurse" could not even provide me with an ice-pack to cool the burn; an ice-pack... twenty five hornet stings and I'm just asking for an ice-pack ... but no. In turn, I received repulsive unnecessary attitude rather than an ice-pack. Furthermore, they made me sit in a visitors chair because there was no room. I needed somewhere to lay immediately due to the specific symptoms of my reaction. Shame. Don't let the name fool you; ask around. This is by far the worst in the area. Absurdly unprofessional!
So glad I chose to go to Coral Gables Hospital, I had to go into the emergency department and they were absolutely amazing. I had gone there after going to the doctors and it was the best thing I decided to do. I was attended very quickly and they did a great job, this department should be very proud of themselves.
Horrible experience in the er. I arrived there with dehydration and was in the room for more than 2 hours and had not been given an iv or any medication to help with vomiting. The doctor saw me once and they took 5 hours to discharge me. They completely forget about you. Dont ask if you need anything or feel better. Never going back to this hospital ever again!
I recently had to take my aunt to the hospital as soon as she flew in from another state because she began to feel sick. Everything was running just fine until she got transferred to ICU. I have been part of the medical field back in North Carolina and never have I been somewhere that was so loud. This floor had so much noise and was insane that I requested my aunt to get put in another room and they did not do anything about it. They were practically having a party in the unit and all having coffee in the middle of the day. I do not remember the nurses name but that really angered me. I hope that this problem gets taken care of in the near future.
